By Air:
There are 18 air strips presently in the state. Five major air strips of Mumbai,
Pune, Aurangabad, Nashik and Nagpur are maintained by the government of India, while the remaining
13 by state viz. Ratangiri, Satara, Dhule, Chandrapur, Nanded, Jalgaon, Bhandara,
Akola, Kolhapur, Solapur, Osmanabad and Rajgad.
By Train:
Maharashtra has 5,455 km. of railway routes. Main railway junctions are Mumbai,
Nagpur, Manmad, Akola, Pune and Solapur. The prestigious konkan Railway project has been successfully completed.
The konkan Railway starts from Roha in Maharashtra to Mangalore in Karnataka, covering a distance of 762.50 along the konkan coast.
By Ports:
Mumbai is the major port in Maharashtra. A few new port at Nhava Sheva, off
Mumabi, was opened in 1989. There are 48 minor ports in the state.
By Bus:
There is connectivity between road.
