KANHERI: Located at Borivali, a suburb in the North-West Mumbai, it contains both Hinayana and Mahayana caves. They were excavated between the Ist and 2nd centuries AD. The Chaitya hall is the most remarkable for the two 23 feet high Buddhas standing in the porch.
